Thank you for your interest and patronage. We are a small family farm dedicated to the well being of our animals and sustainable practices.
Following evaluation of numerous rare and heritage poultry breeds, we have selected the only healthiest, most disease resistant and well suited to our specific climate on Hilo side of Big Island. When developing our breeding program we imported multiple bloodlines and spent generations observing the differences in each before carefully selecting the specific birds and breeds we would focus on, basing the decision by health/vigor, temperament, large amounts of big eggs, mature weight, and adherence to breed standard- in that priority order. Focusing on just two varieties (Silver Double Laced Barnevelders and Bielefelder Kennhuhn) enables us to maintain multiple breeding groups and ensure strong genetic diversity over time. The birds that we offer will help to establish your own flock with strong genetics. Our ultimate goal is to increase the self sufficiency and self sustainability of Hawaii Island.
The following terms and conditions apply to all orders from Freedland Farms, without exception. By placing an order, you agree to these terms and conditions. Please read them thoroughly and if you are unwilling to adhere to them, do not place an order.
Minimum Order: Chicks and hatching eggs have a minimum order size of three for any breed. Older birds may be available from time to time. Unless otherwise specified on the product page, there is a minimum of three per order of any bird or hatching egg.
Shipping: At this time we do not offer shipping. All orders are for local pickup only. We hope to offer shipping within the state of Hawaii in the near future.
Picking Up Your Order: We are working farm and take biosecurity very seriously to ensure the safety and health of our plants and animals. Orders must be picked up on the scheduled date. Orders not picked up within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be cancelled without refund.
Timing: We are a small family farm, working with rare heritage breeds. We do our best to accurately record and predict fertility, laying, and hatch rates. Our forecasted availability is estimated to the best of our ability, but is subject to natural fluxations and unpredictable circumstances. If for some reason we are unable to fulfill your order on time, it will be rescheduled, alternatively you may request a refund in this scenario.
Cancellations: If we are unable to fulfill your order on the scheduled pick up or shipping date, you may request a full refund. We hatch chicks to order. If you cancel your order for any reason more than 21 days prior to pickup you will forfeit 50% of the total purchase price. Orders cancelled less than 21 days prior to pickup are not eligible for a refund. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Hatching Eggs: We do not guarantee the hatch rate of eggs you receive. There are several factors that can affect hatch rates. Your hatch rate may be anywhere from 0-100%. Shipping can adversely effect hatch rates. If you purchase hatching eggs and have them shipped we recommend letting them sit for 24 hours, in the correct orientation, before setting them to hatch.
Payment: Payment in full is due prior to shipping and/or pickup. We accept most major credit cards.
Health and Disease: We go to great lengths to ensure the safety and health of our plants and animals. We follow strict biosecurity guidelines. We recommend you quarantine and observe any new birds and/or plants for the first 30 days; including those received from us.
Use of Our Photos and/or Name: You do NOT have permission to use our name, Freedland Farms, or photos for any reason.
